Whether you are a tour player or a once per week middle to high
handicapper, during on-course performance, swinging with rhythm and
tempo are the key to consistent swing execution. Get to know the feel of
rhythm and tempo that synchronize your swing. To strengthen the feel,
rehearse this rhythm and tempo during a portion of your practice, and
record it in your internal feedback system.
Rhythm and tempo can be strengthened with inner game drills (hyper
link to book) when you’re asked to trust your swing without conscious
thought. These drills include closing your eyes at impact, low
energy/full release (making a 50% to 80% full swing.), retaining the
image of your shot during your swing and swinging tension free –
allowing your swing to find its path of least resistance.
That’s the mind and system that must be fully engaged when you play.
